FAQs
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NUTRITIONIST AND A DIETITIAN?
The profession of nutritionist is not regulated in Australia, meaning anyone can call themselves a nutritionist.
Dietitians are a regulated profession in Australia, with standards set by professional bodies like Dietitians Australia.
While both dietitians and nutritionists are involved in providing nutrition advice, dietitians have more specialised training and are regulated in Australia, allowing them to work in clinical settings and provide individualised care for patients with medical conditions.
